Hello World! It’s always good to revise what we have learnt in the past, so, I am going to flash back to June 30th, 2023, when the FLL Asia Pacific Invitational was held in Sydney and recount some tips that we may use as a plus in future competitions.
Tip #1: No sleeping in and be there early!
Yes, get up early! On the BIG DAY of FLL tournament, you may need to arrive early to book in the practice sessions (10 minutes/session) for you team. Remember: there is NO limit on how many sessions you can book in total, however, for each single booking, 2 sessions are maximum.
Tip #2: Be there professionally.
On the day of FLL tournament, you may have to carry everything you need in a professional way. Such as a sturdy trolley for your robot, a versatile toolbox to fix any loose parts of your robot, and most importantly, you may consider bringing a tablet to code or re-code your robot right next to the practice table.
Tip #3: Be ready to make new friends!
No matter how challenging the competition will be, friendship is also very precious. So, bring some badges or any souvenirs representative of your team to exchange with other teams on site.
Tip #4: Don’t be shy to show!
Not far from the practice field, there should be a particular area marked out for teams to display their FLL project. So, make sure you are well prepared by bringing along any impressive posters, gadgets, or even a projector to show the hard work of your team.
