Mission Replication for Early Testing

Author: Vincent Chen

Using the tools and pieces in our FLL Spike Prime lego set, today I tried to replicate a robot game mission, based on the season teaser, to try and create something we could use for early testing. After a bit of colour distinguishing from a screenshot in the video, I managed to make one of the missions (Sonar Discovery) at roughly the same scale but with different coloured pieces. Below is the comparison after the season materials were released.
They were pretty similar, and before the season even released, we found a multi-gear attachment with a rod at the end for spinning the mission quite effectively for completing this mission, which gave us a head-start in the season.
Several other teammates also made replicas of other missions, which we also used for early testing before the release of the season materials. This gave us a lot of head start, and initially we used scratch code for its simplicity, but later learnt python due to its massive advantage.

  1. Downloaded the win44app the other day. Pretty smooth, actually! Makes putting a bet on super easy when you’re out and about. Worth a download if you’re a mobile user. Try it out: win44app
