Let Us Reach Out for More Chances!

Hello World!

(Updates on Tuesday (28/11) morning:

I talked to First Lego League in New Hampshire, US, this morning on phone, and the officer said because they just reopened after Thanksgiving holiday and their work have piled up, so it might take them a few days to reply to us. Fingers crossed that we could hear from them very soon!)

When we do online research for FLL Innovation Project, we always find windfalls, and today is no exception. Guess what? We discovered that on website of the official First Lego League Blog, there is a category called “Diary of an Innovator” introducing new-fledged innovator teams worldwide. (https://fllblog.wordpress.com/category/first-lego-league/diary-of-an-innovator/)

I think it must be very encouraging to hear our team and website be mentioned and even commended by FLL Blog officials on their website one day. So, inspired by our coach, I decided to contact First Lego League directly via phone and email to “persuade” them to offer our team a chance for Q&A interview, in the hope that when we get a chance to promote our website, it can benefit more rookie teams after learning from our lessons and experiences, as well as can attract more young minds around the globe to get involved in robotics — our hobbies that we always cheer for!

Just like what FLL Core Values strongly advocates — Impact, in which we apply what we learn to improve our world.

Here below is the letter I drafted and sent to First Lego League on 27th November.

Dear First Lego League Officer,

Hope this email finds you well.

This is Muyao Zhang writing from Australia. I’m an 11-year-old girl (Grade 5 in Primary) with a huge pile of passion for Robotics and problem-solving.

Currently my team (Team 1585 Hello World, i.e., a rookie team in 2022 season), which consists of 10 super fans of FLL ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 8, is bustling around with the preparation for FLL Australian National Championship which will be hosted on this upcoming Saturday (2nd December) in Sydney. Honestly, 2023 is the second year for our team to participate in FLL Challenge. We launched our own website (https://flljourney2023-24.com/) and posted the 1st blog on as early as 23rd May 2023, in the hope of sharing our lessons and mistakes from our past and current FLL journey. Welcome to visit our website and leave any comments for us to improve.

As we conducted online research for our Innovation Project last weekend, we found that the official website of First Lego League, particularly under the category of Diary of an Innovator (https://fllblog.wordpress.com/category/first-lego-league/diary-of-an-innovator/), introduced some new teams around the globe. So, I am wondering if it is feasible for us to be introduced through your platform? We are hoping badly to make our website (https://flljourney2023-24.com/) known to more FLL friends worldwide, because we believe that by sharing and learning together, we can enlighten more young minds and help them get involved in robotics. In a nutshell, we want to share our hobbies, FLL and robotics, with a broader community and make a greater impact on the world.

Thank you for your consideration! Feel free to let me know if you need any further information about us.

Have a lovely week.

Warm regards,

Muyao
