Reflection

Hello World! While some of us are bummed out from not making the national championships after regionals, you should always remember this quote:

“Losers live in the past. Winners live in the present, and use their past to benefit their future.”

Meaning that, just because you may have lost this year’s FLL game does not mean that it is over. It means that you have an inner problem in your workings that you haven’t solved. There is always next year, and if you are overage, there is always the First Tech Challenge and the First Robotics Challenge.

This is an implication that you should check over your rubric, and review your Judges’ section video. (here’s another tip: record your judging session video so you can find problems afterward!) Is there a specific criteria you have missed out on? Is there a critical mistake you have overlooked that affected it?

Also, review your Robot Game score. Although through past blogs, we indicated that Robot Game isn’t everything, (FLL: “More than Robots”) it is, after all, still a component of the First Lego League. Maybe most of your other parts were executed well, except one?

Remember to double check everything! While you may think that in one particular field you did pretty well, there are always other teams to ask. Maybe in between your Robot Game times when you’re not practicing, you can ask other teams what THEIR innovation project is about. Maybe you could apply the same concept next time.

So you see, it is not winning that means everything. Reflection is just as important, because winners, are the ones that learnt something. I therefore advise all of you, to go over your idea, and make changes, for next time. Take initiative. Stay tuned for more blogs!
