Hello World! Like every interaction and communication comes dual-directional, I believe that our website as one of the solutions also shares the same pattern.

Where will we start?

Firstly, although our website was initiated in the hope of supporting rookie teams attending FLL, I would like to investigate the feasibility of promoting it in a wider community, especially the Aboriginal community, to encourage more young minds to try robotic competitions such as FLL. I know there are more than 250 Indigenous languages including 800 dialects spoken in Australia, and for young people from Aboriginal background, they may not have proper fundamental knowledge in terms of technology or robotics. So, I think next to help them more effectively and straightforwardly, we can start from making and posting a series of videos or even audios introducing basics of FLL, or writing a more concise and understandable blog generally describing the key points of FLL on our website. Moreover, I think we can open a new category for these rookie teams from Aboriginal background.

Secondly, besides sharing FLL blogs with any rookie teams, I think our website can also work as a platform for displaying and promoting Aboriginal art. The blogs based on our individual research and listed in Blog No.88 have already delved into some masterpieces from famous Aboriginal artists and exhibitions, and whoever visit our website will also be exposed to Aboriginal art.

Lastly, as we are busy preparing for FLL National final, I think we can also include Aboriginal masterpieces into our Robot Design as well as presentation. For example, flashing back to FLL Asia Pacific Invitational in late June, some teams added national flags to their robots, while other teams decorated their exhibit area in a way to express their origin.

Who will we talk to?

The website of NSW Aboriginal Land Council (https://alc.org.au/) can be a good idea. We can fill in an online form if we are not sure which department will be interested in our plan. Alternatively, if we are confident about our location, we can directly reach out to the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (www.metrolalc.org.au) for connection.
