Hello World! Acknowledgement of the traditional people of the land is one of the most important things to do when living on their land. So to respect and understand their interesting and unique culture, Jake, my sister and I decided to visit an event hosted by the Yaali event.

In the event, there were many fun activities. For example, my sister made a small Coolamon out of clay.

There were also fun little tattoos we could put on with different aboriginal symbols on them. They fun aboriginal scratch art with drawings of animals.

Necklaces:

Using real emu feathers, seeds, and string, we created some necklaces with the help of some others. We could also use Posca markers to decorate our seeds using colours and designs of our choice.

Additionally, we received many free things! They gave out colourful aboriginal designed hats, pens, clothes, stickers and there were many stores with great things to get. Spotting a nice accessory store, I decided to get a nice scrunchy with the aboriginal’s famous dot painting design.
