How to Obtain Points Part 1

Hello World! Welcome fellow FLL participants. This is a manual for how to obtain points.

Points are obtained by completing robot game missions, deciding your robot game score, which is worth 25% of the total mark.

There are fifteen missions in the game, which can be completed in 2 minutes and thirty seconds, in any order. The completion of all the missions is not compulsory, and you just have to try and complete as many missions as you can.

During each game, only your best score from your best session will be counted.

Missions:

01: 3D Cinema

In this Mission you must push the dragon so that the red block has moved past the cinema’s black frame, to obtain 20 points.

02: Theatre Scene Change

In this Mission the robot should push over the switch to knock down the red flag. Based on the active scene colour, you will receive a different amount of points:

Blue: 10 points

Pink: 20 points

Orange: 30 points

However, if both the teams’ active scenes match, it grants extra points based on the colour:

Blue: 20 extra points

Pink: 30 extra points

Orange: 10 extra points

03: Immersive Experience

In this Mission, your robot should push down the orange lever to raise all three screens. This will grant 20 points.

04: Masterpiece

In this Mission you should build your own “masterpiece” to place in the pedestal. In the game, your robot should deliver this “masterpiece” to the Museum, which grants 10 points if partly in, and 20 bonus points if it is supported by the pedestal inside the Museum.

05: Augmented Reality Statue

During this mission the orange lever needs to be completely pushed, to grant 30 points.

06: Music Concert Lights and Sounds

There are two parts to this mission. First, if possible, the robot should rotate the lights’ orange lever down to activate them, which grants 10 points. If the speakers’ orange lever is also rotated completely, 10 more points are granted.

07: Hologram Performer

In this mission all you have to do is push the orange activation lever and if the person is completely turned around, it grants twenty points.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where I will explain the other missions and bonuses.

  2. The post notes that robot game score is worth 25% of the total mark and that all fifteen missions have to be fit into two minutes and thirty seconds in any order — that time pressure makes mission prioritization feel as strategic as the build itself. Deciding which missions to attempt first is half the game. Outside of robotics, a different kind of quick round with friends comes from the free browser bluffing game at mimicparty.me, where the clock and the guessing carry the fun.

  3. The detail that the robot game score is worth 25% of the total mark is easy to overlook when you’re deep in mission strategy, and squeezing fifteen missions into two minutes and thirty seconds means every second of the run has to count. Planning the order in advance seems just as important as the build itself. For another kind of quick, time-boxed play with friends, there’s a free browser party game at krillion.me you might enjoy between practice sessions.

  4. The detail that the fifteen missions can be attempted in any order within two and a half minutes is worth pausing on — that ordering freedom is really where strategy starts, since deciding which missions to chain together matters as much as building the robot. It’s a nice reminder that planning under a time limit is half the game. Speaking of quick timed guessing with friends, noillirk.app (noillirk.app) is a free daily word game in that same pick-your-answers spirit.
